Brampton and Beyond Community Trust
Enabling local people to work together to identify local needs and
solutions, creating opportunities that promote environmental,
economic and social wellbeing
The Trust exists to improve the social, environmental and economic wellbeing of the community to support it to become more resilient and sustainable. In 2015, we completed the asset transfer of the Brampton Community Centre site, meaning we have long term security for the delivery of the Community Centre buildings, site and its services.
Autumn of 2015 saw an investment in the region of £5m by the County Council and Impact Housing on an Extra Care Housing Scheme - Bramble Court - on land leased to Impact by the Trust. A 12 month, £350,000 facelfit was completed in February 2018 for the cafe, reception and offices at the Centre funded through Power to Change, William Milburn Trust, Bernard Sunley Trust and RAF Spadeadam (via funding from the Ministry of Defence).
The Trust has five key business objectives:
Our strategic plan describes how we will do this in practice, and is backed by a business plan describing how we will deliver these objectives in the community. Please contact us for copies. Our business also aligns with the recently developed Brampton Economic Plan which describes how the area can achieve triple bottom line outcomes by delivering strong locally driven social, economic and environmental benefits.
Brampton and Beyond Community Trust is a company limited by guarantee and is registered as a charity. The Trust is a community based organisation serving Brampton and surrounding areas totalling around 21 wards.
Governed by a board of trustees providing strategic direction and oversight of its activities and associated interests, it mainly operates Brampton Community Centre, employing around 20 staff and supporting another 30-40 volunteers who deliver community group activities or help us develop new and exciting projects.
